Science Ambassador
Netherton C of E has a team of Science Ambassadors made up of one child from each of the Key Stage 2 classes. These individuals are empowered to share their curiosity and enthusiasm for science, engage students (and staff) through various science activities, and raise the profile of science across the school and home community.
The responsibilities of the Science Ambassadors include:
- being responsible for the organisation, distribution and tidying of science resources during lessons;
- taking photographs of science activities during lessons;
- leading demonstrations during science lessons;
- encouraging other children to explore the science playground packs during break times;
- informing the Science Lead of any resources that need replacing;
- sharing new, exciting science news with their respective classes;
- selecting examples of work to go on the science displayed;
- attending meetings to discuss the ways in which science might be improved;
- being involved in selecting winners from science competitions; and
- carrying out pupil voice for science.
Selecting our Science Ambassadors
Key Stage 2 pupils, who demonstrate an enthusiasm for science, are keen to develop their communication skills and are willing to share their passion with others, are identified by class teachers throughout the first weeks of the academic year. These children are then nominated and become Science Ambassadors.
