Wellbeing
Welcome to the Wellbeing area of our website. This is where you can find useful information on external support and resources for mental health and wellbeing. Netherton C of E Primary recognises that positive mental health and wellbeing are essential to our children to enable them to learn and achieve their full potential. We provide daily wellbeing support in class through our wellbeing check-ins and we also have in school counselling and pastoral support available.
In our school we aim to promote the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ as evidence suggests that there are five steps that you can take to improve your overall mental health and wellbeing. These five steps are: connect, be active, take notice, learn and give.
The school works alongside Reflexions (the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) – Dudley) that includes having a dedicated Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP). This means that we have the capacity to offer further support if a child is struggling with mental health issues such as low mood or anxiety.
Wellbeing Ambassadors
Our Wellbeing ambassadors have now been appointed and have started their training thinking about the 5 ways to wellbeing. You will spot them around school wearing their ambassador badge.
